This app gathers general diagnostic information about our customer’s network and send that information to EONI support safely. The app is only active when the customer has the app open.
EONI has partnered with RouteThis to help solve customer problems faster. Customer data privacy is very important and handled carefully and with encryption. The app saves time and gets issues resolved much quicker. The app is free. If Google Play or App Store are asking for any payment information that is not required to use the RouteThis app. The location permission on Android provides access to WiFi network names, no GPS location information is sent. If customers want to uninstall the app after working with EONI support they are free to do so. However leaving the app in place and running a network scan whenever there is a problem is a convenient way to save time and get the status of the customer network sent to EONI support.
If customers find their Internet is not working properly, opening the RouteThis Helps app on their device and running a network scan will take a snapshot of the current network performance and send this information to EONI support. Customers can run the network scan as often as they like. The test runs a speedtest, tests roundtrip time to various devices, counts number of devices attached to the customer’s network and other similar details to help EONI support resolve problems faster than asking customers a zillion questions.
